More Adventures in Self Feeding - Part Two

And here he is, not quite so coordinated, but awfully cute with how he "Mmmm"s after each bite of his Spaghetti-os!

More Adventures in Self Feeding - Part One

This kid will eat just about anything you put in front of him, under one condition: he must be allowed to feed himself. Luckily, he is really starting to get the hang of it! Here he is eating gnocchi that Nonna made for him. I love how hard he concentrates to get it in his mouth!

Brea 8K

Catherine and I ran in the Brea 8K this morning and I have decided that this may be my new favorite annual run: a) at 8 kilometers, it's only 5 miles, which feels like nothing these days and b) there were a ton of food vendors waiting to feed us at the end of the race! oatmeal/yogurt cups from Corner Bakery, BJs pizza slices, CPK chicken salads, Jamba Juice smoothies, Panera bagels, Hot Dog on a Stick lemonade cups...it was amazing! Fortunately everything was microportioned, but I'm fairly sure we still ended up consuming more calories than we burned!
Catherine even ran with me instead of her own (far faster) pace, crossing the finish line at 45:49 with me a few seconds behind at 45:55. We will definitely be making this an annual tradition!

Cousins!

Luca and I spent the night at Nonno's along with William and Nolan. Luca was LOVING getting to play rough with the big boys!

New Tricks Daddy Taught Me

Luca is starting to imitate just about anything we do. Here are two new tricks daddy taught him: to "aah" in satisfaction after taking a sip of something to drink, and to say "uh-oh" after something breaks or falls. Unfortunately, Luca is having a little too much fun with this one - according to his interpretation, it's an "accident" as long as you say "uh-oh."

Luca Goes To The Library

Last week, I discovered that the library at the end of our street hosts a toddler story time hour every Wednesday morning, so we decided to check it out today. I was a little nervous since sitting attentively is not my little guy's strongsuit, but I was pleasantly surprised at how he did.

They had name tags for each of the kids and sang a good morning song to each and every one of them. They told two stories celebrating Black History month with special guest reader actress Paula Jai Parker, but mostly it was an active hour of singing, dancing, and coloring & crafts. Needless to say, we will be back each week!
