Disney just does everything better! Before daylight, at 5:15 in the morning, approximately 12,000 runners lined Downtown Disney in anticipation of the inaugural
Tinkerbell Half Marathon.
They started the festivities with Minnie and Daisy greeting the crowd and even shot off fireworks for the National Anthem. We ran all through the parks, backlots and streets of Anaheim where characters and spectators cheered us on throughout the 13.1 miles.
Cat came to cheer me on at the finish where I clocked in at 2:06:56, an improvement from 2:10:39 from my
last 1/2 M in 2009.
Next year, we will both run and make a whole weekend out of it, taking Luca to Disneyland the day before and staying at the hotel so that we can just roll out of bed and into our tennies!
