For Aunt Marilyn's 60th birthday, we met for brunch at Belmont Brewing Company  right on the water in Long Beach, followed by a tour of Rancho Los Alamitos.  So nice to find "vacation for a day" spots in LA!

Luca and I went Fathers' Day party hopping while Tony was off to the UK for Royal Ascot: Lunch at Nonno and Nonna's and dinner at Uncle Fran and Aunt Cherie's...a very fun day, but a major food hangover the next day!

Los Angeles Crowns Its Kings

:This may not be the first time that an LA team has won a champ- ionship, but it's the first time I've ever been to the subsequent victory parade and it was AWESOME!  Estimates of 250,000 people were there to celebrate the Kings!  I didn't even try to take pictures that would do the event justice, so here is the LA Times gallery of photos:

We brought the infamous sign from the final game and I promise I'm not exagger- ating, at least 100 people stopped us and/or made a reference to seeing us on TV.  Most of them even asked to take a picture - one lady joked that we should be charging by the picture to help build Luca's college fund!

Kings Take the Cup!

Such an exciting hockey season, culm- inating in the first ever Kings Stanley Cup win!!!  And as if that wasn't thrilling enough, Luca and Tony made it on TV with a sign we brought!  It even made it into the footage of the #1 play of the day on SportsCenter!  Here is the "highlight reel" from the night:

HERE are some of our favorite pictures from the playoffs and HERE is more of the video footage I took from the night of more of the goals, Luca playing with some big kids during one of the intermissions, and the presentation of the Stanley Cup.  Staples Center was absolutely electric!  Can't for Luca to, one day, realize what an amazing event he got to experience with his Daddy!

Luca Goes To The Carnival

Last year Luca was far too little to enjoy the carnival, but THIS year was another story!  He got his face painted AND rode the choo choo train. Seven times.  He was one tired little lion by the end of the day!

Luca Goes To A Birthday Party

We have been invited to a few kids' birthday parties, but this is the first one that Luca has been old enough to appreciate - and BOY, did he appreciate it!  Colt had an Apache themed party with all kinds of fun activities and treats, including PONY RIDES!  Luca took to the saddle like a natural and wasn't scared at all!
