Secretariat Premiere

Tony scored us tickets to the premiere of Secretariat at El Capitan! Such a great story, and the movie was really well done...and so exciting to see it with all the stars in it sitting so close to you! I think I was a great audience for the film - I know enough about horse racing to truly appreciate it, but not enough to be critical of any inaccuracies they may have fudged on to enhance the story : )

Plus, I got another chance to wear my
LB(M)D, Little Black (Maternity) Dress! And a fun party afterwards at the Roosevelt next door!

Flower Shower

Nonna Cathy and Zia Angela threw me a beautiful "flower" themed shower with all of Tony's aunts and cousins!

She even made flower cupcakes and flower balloons!

A picture with my Allevato mom and sister...

...and one with my Lima mom and sister! This is one lucky little baby to have such great aunts and Grand- mothers!

Congratulations, Alexis and Mariano!

Congratulations to Alexis and Mariano, who tied the knot on a beautful September Saturday afternoon at the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey!

Alexis' gown was stunning and Mariano looked so handsome in his uniform!

Alexis, Suzy and I have enjoyed quite a few dinner, wine and cupcake nights over the past few years, seeing all of us through our weddings... sure gonna miss those girls' nights!

Surprise Shower!

On Monday, my office surprised me with an afternoon shower, complete with pink and blue balloons, cupcakes, and adorable little monkey napkins! My boss gave me a
huge assortment of nursery decor items and the rest of the gang got me diapers, a UCLA outfit, AND they all pitched in and got me the BOB Jogger stroller, the Bentley of strollers! I am so lucky to work with such great people!

Baby Bookworm Shower

My amazing team of party planning aunts, mom and sister, led by ridic- ulously creative Aunt Tracy threw me THE most adorable "Baby Bookworm" Shower.

Every table had a children's book theme, with related dec- orations and aptly named desserts! The Dr. Seuss table had flowers that looked like they came right out of Horton Hears a Who!

and the "Love You Forever" table even had a box of tissues on it, since it's pretty impossible not to cry two pages into the book!
There
are far too many great pictures to put in the blog, so click HERE for the whole album.

Faith, Trust, and...Pixie Dust!

Today was our 3rd Annual Girl Cousins Princess Breakfast at El Capitan in Holly- wood. This year it was with Tinkerbell to see her new movie "The Great Fairy Rescue."

Once again, we had the cutest little princesses there : )

While waiting
for breakfast to arrive, the girls colored pictures for us.
Tinkerbell herself came over to admire their work and ask them their names!

Before the show, Tinkerbell came out to greet us with this dance.

The movie was really good and we learned that a fairy is born when a baby laughs for the first time!

Unhappy Feet

Went for another doctor appointment yesterday and have now officially hit the 30-pounds-gained-mark, 10 of which i am convinced are in my feet!

I am starting to feel like one of Cinderella's step-sisters trying on the glass slipper! I think I will try icing them tonight...

Operation: Nursery

I'm happy to report that we now have the baby's room (mostly!) cleared out and the crib put together! Of course, Daisy had to be the first one to test it : )
The room will stay all white until we meet the little one and know how to decorate... I've taken all the old wives' tales "tests" and they are no help, coming out just about even, so until he or she gets here, I will continue to walk by the room imagining what it will look like in just a few months...

Funny, I have this image of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty battling back and forth with their magic to
"Make it BLUE!" "Make it PINK!"

Congratulations, Billy and Nancy!

Congratulations to Nancy and Billy who got engaged last month in Hawaii!
Everyone had so much fun celebrating Hawaiian style at Uncle Fran and Aunt Cherie's and we are all looking forward to the big day next summer in Maui!

Birthday Weekend

What a beautiful day for a birthday...it just so happens that this year, September 9th fell on Rosh Hashanah, so Paul and I had the day off!
Tony took the day off, too, taking me to breakfast at Urth Caffe in Santa Monica and I had a heavenly pregnancy massage and bubble bath at Burke Williams...

Friday night, the whole family got together at Phillipe's downtown with Uncle Fran's family, Grandma Lima, and Erika, Tommie, and Torin, who came into town for Billy's engagement party.
I'm still thinking about how scrumptious those French Dips were!

Then on Sunday I got to celebrate again with cake at the Allevatos...a very fun birthday weekend!
